Capstone: Supernova
Supernova is a sci-fi cyber western - first-person - movement shooter - roguelike. A doomed star must fight through a horde of cosmic monsters using an artifact to steal immortality from a God.
Supernova is a Capstone project of DePaul's undergraduate Game Design program. I am working on the project with fellow students Rowan Blair, Dane Dal Bianco, Finnegan Szakats, Josh Mullen, Will Morton, and Aech Ashe. As of February 2026, the game has just exited its Alpha stage, with a lot of its art still in concepting.
Below is a gallery of concepting I have done for the project. Our team follows a typical industry standard art pipeline: we use version control to make sure all art pieces are accounted for and created in a timely manner. My process is to create drawings after having conversation with the technical and narrative designers respectively and reviewing the Game Design document to make sure I have an understanding of the assignment.
